Bike For Boys – Bike-A-Thon
Here’s how this exciting Special Event works:
Entry fees are: Free for those 18 or younger; $50 for 19 and older. As a rider, you will solicit pledges of dollars for participating in this fun bike-a-thon. Our challenge to you is to raise at least $400. Awards will be provided for those raising the most dollars to support our programs for at-risk, underserved & fatherless teenage boys.
The course is along the Santa Cruz River Park Loop bikeway. Round trip is 25 miles, with a half-way rest stop at Ted Walker Park, just south of Ina Road.
Riders and Teams will have their own webpage associated with this event where they may post their own information, see their progress, and receive donations. Links to these pages may be connected to all your social media accounts to spread the word rapidly.
You may ride as an individual, or form a team to collect pledges and ride together.
You may register the day of the event at Paseo de Las Iglesias Park and join the ride!
If you want to ride and help us raise funds but don’t have a bike, email us at email@example.com and we’ll find a bike for you.
The whole family can ride! The registration fees are the minimum to participate!
Start times will be: 7 am, 7:30 am, 8 am, 8:30 am, 9 am
Each rider will have a personal web page to advertise their participation and receive cash or credit card donations. Begin setting up your page by clicking the “Register” tab on the left menu list. Follow the instructions. If you get stuck, email firstname.lastname@example.org for help.

Tips for Raising Money
Don’t forget to ask everyone you meet to support you in your fund raising effort. Ask them for $10 or $20 – small amounts can make a BIG difference! Ask not only your co-workers, family & friends, but your hair dresser or barber, your clients, your favorite store owners and others you interact with regularly.
Your personal webpage for BikeForBoys may be linked on your Facebook account, other social media, or sent as a link in your personal emails.
Dress appropriately for Tucson weather in late October. Riding helmets are required. Water will be provided at the half-way point at Ted Walker Park. Refreshments and snacks will be available at the end of the ride. Remember your sunscreen!
